QR Codes. What are they? How can I use them?

QR Codes
QR Codes, also known as Quick Response Codes, are a type of two dimensional code that provides an immediate connection to your consumers. QR Codes are easily created and allow for fast readability. Are you looking to provide a quick and easy way for consumers to access your website? QR Codes will do just that! They are a focus of advertising and are used over applications such as commercial tracking, entertainment ticketing, transportation ticketing, and product marketing. You may see QR Codes in magazines, on signs, buses, or even business cards. Businesses may use QR codes on any object in which consumers might need information.

What do QR Codes look like? The code is composed of black square dots that are arranged in a square pattern on a white background (see the image above).

Wondering how to use QR Codes? You want to make sure that your cell phone has the correct reader application as well as a camera. If you have both, you can scan the QR Code. Depending on how the code is set up, once you scan it, you could possibly see contact information, it can connect you to a wireless network, or it may just open the web browser on your telephone.
